nesting series no. 3

we got a new rug for the living room! it's something we've been wanting for a while now.

i remember maybe about a year or two into when alex and i started dating, he was getting increasingly into interior design and decorating. he wanted a cowhide rug SO BAD. like, so bad. i wasn't as into it, so after a while he let it go. i don't know why i was somewhat opposed to it - maybe i just didn't like how animalistic it felt? i also think i just never saw one that i really liked.

alex scored a great find thanks to t.j. maxx. he found a faux cow hide rug for only $50! it's not super big, but it does completely change the feel of our living room. i love the colors, and it compliments the two mexican blankets we have really well. while i don't think this will be its permanent home (we are looking at getting a super big rug sometime soon, but they're pretty pricy), we both are excited for the little change to the feel of the space that it has brought. lu also loves the feel of the rug, which is an obvious bonus. we put the oriental rug in the bedroom, and it's honestly so nice to have a rug in there now. i enjoy getting out of bed and putting my feet on carpet instead of hardwood! it's the little luxuries.
