ramen, round two

to be honest, this was more like round three or four. now that i'm on the ramen train, there's no getting off. at least until the weather starts to warm again. for me ramen is winter meal. since that bowl of hot, salty deliciousness can only be savored for a month or so longer, i feel the need to embrace ramen season fully and completely. last night we met at the western brown line, grabbed a bottle of wine from the liquor store at the corner, and headed south to nano. nano is a red and black lacquered sushi and thai lounge, with surprisingly cheap and good ramen. this is the second time we've been now. $10 for a bowl of tonkatsu ramen - and you don't really need to order anything else, but the potstickers and the veggie tempura are both excellent.

we snapped a few photos to remember our date. what i'll remember most is the conversation. we talked the entire meal about the intersection of consciousness and technology. what it means to be on social media, but feel so isolated in a place where, at its best, it should be a platform to create community across all boundaries.

since making this blog we both spend a lot more time on social media platforms, reading other people's writing and watching other people's videos than before, and so, now more than ever, we are both vastly more interested in a what is a responsible use of technology looks like. we can't just walk away from instagram and from the internet as a whole if we want to make this project a viable source of professional and personal pride - and, ultimately, a business. what are the rules? and how can you navigate or break them to your emotional and mental advantage? we are in a constant search of answer, and will no doubt be discussing it here in increasing frequency and depth.
