h: we got to have dinner with my parents last night. i unfortunately didn’t have the whole day with them because of work, but what time I did get was filled with joy and good italian food and wine. i took them to piccolo sogno, a restaurant in the west loop that i have been wanting to try for a while. everybody was already feeling good from cocktails they’d had before meeting up with me, and the conversation flowed. we shared burata with prosciutto (burata is my favorite), and everyone got a heaping bowl of beautiful pasta. alex and i can both agree that if we had to eat one cuisine for the rest of our lives, it would be italian. even though i’m jewish, i am also italian. and that is the food that speaks to my soul. it was such a treat to see my parents two weeks in a row. i feel so blessed that they enjoy coming down to the city so much, because it means we have a lot more chances to spend time together.

a: first off if you disagree that Italian food is not the best food. your opinion is wrong. secondly, I wholeheartedly agreee with everything above. but would like to add while hannah was working I had an opportunity that I rarely have had in the past five years. I got to hang out with hannah’s parents without hannah. we had an incredible time and then that meal to top it all off. truly one of the best meals of my life. and a 10/10 night.

piccolo sogna highly recommend.

(photo is mostly unrelated but coming home to her always makes any great day even greater)
