fill up our cup is an experiment. we’re still not sure what it is yet. is it a list of things that have brought us joy in the last week? is it a catalogue of a constant conversation on gratitude alone? just shit we like from the internet. some weeks we think it’s all of those things. others, none at all.
today, vol. ii of fill up our cup starts. new year. new ideas. new takes. here’s to hoping we figure it out. at some point.
this week, we think it means talking about the blog as an entity.

last night, we were out celebrating a friend's recent success, who's in the film industry. though i left the industry few years ago, i still see a lot of familiar faces when we’re at these types of things, all asking a similar question, 'what have you been up to?'.
to which moonbeam and I both responded, “we’re running a blog together”.
it’s taken a lot to get to this point. it feels great to be at this point. i know we alluded in our New Years post that it’s officially something we’re doing now, and that may seem like small potatoes but it’s really most of our conversations nowadays. and we’re very excited to feel this degree of pleasure & gratitude from something that’s still so young. something that we’re making. to be in a place where when asked what we do, we can both say we run a blog feels damn good.
that being said, that answer was quickly followed a question we had not prepared for: ‘what’s it about?’ an absurdly simple question, but surprisingly one we’ve never thought of. we fumbled. I joked saying ‘it’s about us. because we’re awesome’.
most blogs have a niche, a central theme, something they sell better than everyone else. we are still working on that. it’s about us. a opportunity to archive our memories together. but we also want to be a resource.
a place people go to feel a certain way. a slow life, driven by community, for a community. among all of the noise. a quiet space to hear each other. really.
a lofty goal, but we’re ready to give it a shot.
