the five universal shapes.

a few months ago, alex discovered something called the preferential shapes test. the theory, founded by Angeles Arrien, is that there are 5 universal shapes. these shapes exist in every culture, across every plane and those shapes all share a universal commonality in their meaning. the shapes are:

the circle

the square

the triangle

the plus (or the cross)

and the spiral

the test is essentially a watered down tarot or zodiac reading, it goes like this: using the shapes listed above, rank them one to five according to your preference in that given moment.

it's good not to give it too much thought. then follow this list to understand how the particular shape & your choice of placement provides insight into your current state of being.

unlike other readings, the key here is to spread them out wide enough so you don't remember what they mean or what the placement means. we have started doing these tests every couple of months to see how our priorities and goals are changing, and it has provided a lot of insight.

here's our most recent reading

h: plus, circle, spiral, triangle, square.

a: spiral, circle, plus, square, triangle.
